How to fix scratches

Use the in-game Polish. Do not reach for real toothpaste. Clear the dirt first, spread Polish on the scratched plastic — on a disc, cover the whole underside — then work it with a cotton tip or the toothbrush and look again under the UV torch. Scratches are their own bar, so a high overall percent can still miss an S.

Order that matches the stain

  1. Remove dust before you polish. Scratches hide under grime, and polishing first wastes the bar.
  2. Apply Polish. A thin coat on a shell or a label. On a disc, the guides say the whole underside can take it.
  3. Rub with a cotton tip or the toothbrush. Circles or strokes. More than one pass is normal. Nobody published a stroke count, so I will not invent “twelve circles.”
  4. Sweep the UV torch. Rotate the cartridge so the edges are in the light.
  5. Add Polish again until the Scratches bar reads 100. The other three bars are a separate job.

Why searchers type toothpaste

SmashPad described the polish as a weird toothpaste-tube goo. The tube is a prop in the sim. The keyword shows up in English and in other languages because of that tube, not because Parasol published a household recipe. I am not going to tell you to put bathroom toothpaste on a real cartridge. This page is about the tool named Polish.

Disc scratches were weighted up in a 2 October 2026 demo patch. The developer’s line was that CD scratches were not pulling their weight, so they were buffed. Old clips can show a different percent for the same looking disc. Trust the bar in the version you are playing.

A 99 can still be a D

The public result screen for Fireball Spam + AirJumping III shows Dirt 78, Stickers 100, Ink 73, Scratches 85, and the letter D. Scratches at 100 would not have saved that card, because ink was at 73. A June demo patch added an autocomplete when every layer is at least 99 percent, and you can turn that assist off in accessibility. Autocomplete is not an S rank. S still wants every bar at 100, according to Vaagame’s grade guide.

Questions

How long do I leave the polish on?

No public source gives a wait time. I am leaving that cell empty.

Does polish remove stickers?

No. Stickers want heat and tweezers. Glue film wants solvent. Polish is the scratch bar.

Can I S-rank with scratches at 99?

The published S condition is 100 on all four bars. 99 is the autocomplete threshold from a demo patch, which is a different feature.
